How to prepare for the surgery ?
• Before the operation, it is necessary to have a personal consultation with a plastic surgeon. After a comprehensive discussion with the patient of the future operation, the surgeon will determine its order and conduct a detailed briefing.
• Approximately 1 week before the operation, it is necessary to bring (send) to our hospital the test results and the conclusion of the attending physician. It is also possible to pass all the tests and be examined by a doctor in our hospital 1 day before the operation. But, should be considered that if the test results do not correspond to the norm, the operation will be postponed.
• 3 weeks before the operation it is necessary to stop taking blood-thinning drugs (Acylpyrin, Anopyrin, Aspirin, Alnagon, Mironal or other drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid).
• 3 weeks before the operation, the patient must not have had an acute or inflammatory disease (eg, acute respiratory infections, influenza). Patients who smoke should stop or at least limit smoking 3 weeks before the operation, as smoking greatly slows down recovery processes.
• You must come to the operation on an empty stomach, ie. 8 hours before the operation, you can not drink, eat, smoke.
The Procedure:
The surgery takes from 2 to 4 hours and performs under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation.
During the tightening of the inner (median) surface of the thighs, the surgical incision is made in the region of the inguinal folds. With more significant excess skin, the incision runs vertically along the inner surface of the thigh from the inguinal fold to the knee (vertical lift). The final appearance of postoperative scars depends on the individual characteristics of the patient.Postoperative Care Recovery:
• Within 7-14 days it is necessary to observe a sparing regimen and regularly take prescribed antibiotics and medications to reduce swelling. You will receive all medicines at the time of discharge from the hospital.
• Try not to raise your arms up, do not carry weights, if possible, sleep on your back for one week.
• Showering is possible 4-5 days after the operation. Until this time, it is necessary to wear an elastic bandage and compression underwear at all times.
• Do not remove adhesive plasters from wounds. During the control appointment, the doctor will change them.
• Compression garments must be worn for 6 weeks (only to be removed when showering).
• Removal of sutures (if the sutures were not absorbable) occurs after 7 – 10 days.
• 2-3 weeks after the operation, you can start doing massage, at least 3 times a day for 15-20 minutes. How exactly to massage and when to start doing it, the doctor will tell you. Massage speeds up the healing process.
• Active physical activity is allowed no earlier than six to eight weeks after the operation.
• A visit to the sauna or solarium is possible after 2-3 months.
• Healing processes are very individual. In most cases, swelling and bruising goes away within two weeks.
• In order to avoid the occurrence of pigmentation in the places of incisions, while in the sun, it is necessary to use sunscreen.
