FaceLift – when and how to operate?

Before the operation, the doctor takes into account not only the age, but the structure and elasticity of the patient’s skin. A circular FaceLift should have been carried out when sagging skin on the neck and face (aptosis) has already become very noticeable. With age, the elasticity of tissues decreases sharply, therefore, most often a very noticeable sagging of the skin occurs in the lower third part of the face, i.e. at the level of the lower jaw and in the neck area under the chin. The effect after the operation persists for 8-10 years. If a second operation is performed after 3-4 years, then the effect of a “mask-like” face cannot be ruled out. FaceLift helps to reduce them, but can never completely smooth them out. This also applies to small vertical wrinkles above the upper and lower lip.

It can be said that a person with a narrow face and thin skin will have a better effect after surgery than a person with a round, full face with a fairly large fat layer.

Preparing for the operation:

• The operation is performed under general anesthesia, therefore, it is necessary to undergo a preoperative examination and pass tests. A prerequisite for this operation is good health. Three weeks before the operation, the patient must not have suffered an acute or inflammatory disease, and also, there must not be any skin diseases.
• 2 to 3 weeks before surgery, stop taking blood thinners.
• It is not recommended to dye your hair 7 – 10 days before the operation, as the dye that is gradually washed off can make it difficult to wash your hair and disinfect your hair after surgery.
• You must come to the operation on an empty stomach, ie. 6 hours before the operation you can not drink, eat, smoke.
• After the operation, the patient stays in the hospital for 1-2 nights.
